My 2020 Thanksgiving Table

Guys, I am so excited! With the pandemic raging, food is one of the things that makes me happiest. Well, honestly food makes me happiest all the time, but it’s extra special this year. It’s not only the food that is fun, but the act of cooking is one of the most caring things you can do for yourself.

Cooking yourself a thoughtful meal no matter how simple or complicated, taking a bit of effort to plate it and make it look beautiful and then sitting down to enjoy every bite is the ultimate act of self care. So no matter if you are alone or if you are able to safely be with friends and family, even just making something simple is healing.

I’m not going all out this year, but I am going to be teaching a FREE class sponsored by Banyan Tree Women’s Collective called Holiday Deliciousness: Classics with a Healing Twist for Your Holiday Table on December 5th. I will be testing some of these recipes for Thanksgiving, so here’s what I’m thinkin’….

Note: Just because I’m cooking a massive amount of food that is going to take multiple days and countless hours doesn’t mean doing something incredibly simple cannot be just as nourishing, fun, and delicious, because it can. If I weren’t recipe testing, I think my menu would probably consist of a turkey breast, stuffing, roasted veggies (maybe Brussels sprouts) and a glass of wine of course :-). That would probably be it and it would be a blast. But this year I’m testing out some good ones…. so here it goes:

Buttery Sage Roasted Chicken with Lemon Garlic Sauce

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower Mash

Herby Stuffing

Emerald Kale Salad

Cinnamon-Spiced Apple Crisp

All of these recipes are getting tested by yours truly for Thanksgiving then placed thoughtfully and with care into my “Holiday Deliciousness” Recipe E-Book! After the class I’ll share a few of the recipes on this blog that people were most excited about so stay tuned. I can’t wait to share how it all went.
